Quick Summary: CRAWL Control is essentially “low-speed cruise control” for off-roading. It manages the throttle and brakes at each individual wheel, allowing you to focus entirely on steering.
How to Use CRAWL Correctly #
-
Engage 4L: You must be in Low Range (Neutral first, then shift to 4L).
-
Activate: Press the CRAWL button and select a speed (1 is slowest, 5 is fastest).
-
Trust the Noise: You will hear a loud, rapid “grinding” sound. This is normal—it is the ABS pump firing hundreds of times per second to manage traction.
Multi-Terrain Select (MTS) #
MTS changes the “sensitivity” of the vehicle’s brain.
-
Mud & Sand: Allows more wheel spin to maintain momentum.
-
Rock: Minimizes wheel spin to prevent tires from being sliced by sharp stones.
Associated Service: [ELEC-ECU-PRG] ECU Diagnostics & Programming Pro Tip: If you are stuck in deep sand, CRAWL Control can sometimes “dig” you out by vibrating the car and finding traction hidden beneath the surface. Don’t touch the pedals; let the computer do the work.
